New Beginings!

What is C Port Jiu Jitsu and what does it represent? This blog is dedicated to the art that I've devoted my life to over the past 10 years Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I should probably introduce myself I'm the owner and creator of this blog and my name is Michael Winston Andrews. I have competed in Jiu Jitsu tournaments from Ohio to California and I have had lots of up and downs in my life but the one constant I have to survive anything I have been through has been Jiu Jitsu and I am forever grateful for the people who introduced me to this art and that stayed closed to me throughout the years in my progress. I have had many different jobs in my life and the entire time I am working at said jobs all i could think about is Jiu Jitsu and how i could not wait to get back on the mats. I do not want to be famous or rich i just want to share some my knowledge that i have learned from many great instructors throughout the years. I want to offer an outlet to people to learn and grow as i have learned and grown throughout these years.

I'm in the process of getting everything worked out with the facility where i will be setting up shop which i should be able to get done before the middle of next month.

When I first started doing Jiu Jitsu i thought it looked dumb and goofy like a bunch of guys wrestling in pajamas and quickly began taking classes and it literally took over my life. if i wasn't spending time on the mats i was scouring the Internet for new videos on techniques and approaches to Jiu Jitsu and everyone who gets into it seems so passionate about it. I guess the physical outlet for anger and aggression really helps work out the daily stress of living in this world. The ego is talked about a lot in Jiu Jitsu circles because you soon have it crushed on a daily basis by people more experienced than you who went through the same things we all go through the constant ego bashing of having to give up and that is what truly changes you in your life. Being able to go through life in a calm peaceful state is my goal in life and I know with Jiu Jitsu it has really changed me. Its hard to explain how it does it or the magic it works on you as a person not to mention how good it is for you health wise. The only way really to experience it is to do it for yourself and see what you think.

I know i am rambling a bit since i am new to blogging but i feel and overwhelming urge to try to go out and change my life for the better because no matter where you are in life you can always change it and that change begins with a thought and that thought turns into actions. I want to change my life  for the better and really want to help people and share the knowledge that I've been given.

I really want this to be a place with no Jiu Jitsu politics where like minded people can share the art they love with each other and i hope i can accomplish this through this blog and school.

Ill keep it short for now and just want to thank all the people who have helped me get to where I am now in my Jiu Jitsu level. Thank you Garth Spendiff, Mike Sergi, Adam and Rory Singer, Justin Flood. I'm sure their are lots of others but those are the first that come to my mind.
